He was fired and was replaced by present GM Jason Botterill and his idea of team-building is based upon defensemen, more defensemen, and defensemen playing forward and there's no reason to believe he'll deviate from his plan. Nor should he.

Bogo is soooooo s l o w now. He could at least punch someone in the face if he's going to be out there

I don’t know what to say about this team anymore. Too soft. Won’t even battle for pucks in the corner, let alone stick up for a teammate. They should be embarrassed with their play

Sure hope Dahlin has a quick and full recovery.

The GMs like Botteriel, Dubas and other analytic. skill loving GMs need to acknowledge, that although that is the PRIMARY goal, to have a speed and skill team....you STILL need an element of toughness and grit. It seems these GMs roster a team that is much too soft. If they encounter some toughness trouble in the regular season, expect that to be ten-fold in the playoffs.
Sure, have your skill...speed...finesse. But, you just gotta employ a couple of guys who can impede the bullies. You don't really need goons...but a couple of feisty, no-back-down guys who can play some minutes. All skill, and little to no grit...it looks pretty on the ice. But, IMO...won't win you a Cup!

I think it's sad and pathetic and a horrible black mark on the NHL when a 4th line goon deliberately injures a star player, and the reaction of the hockey world is that it's partially the Sabres' fault because they don't have guys who are also willing to take liberties and try to injure the other team's players.

FFS, why not just severely punish the goons - and their teams - so that coaches never play those guys?

This is the pathetic BS that has been thrown around the league for 100 years - and it's still BS.

Having a goon punch Cernak in the face doesn't do a damn thing - it's his job to get punched in the face. He loves getting punched in the face, because in the bizarre world of NHL HR, it keeps him employed.

You want to even it up? The Sabres should have knocked Stamkos out with a flying elbow. That would have sent a message.

i seem to recall the "keys to the game" to beating the 2005 to 2007 sabres was "push them around" every single game

other teams tried to push them around and just got obliterated by overwhelming skill, not because they'd fight people back

At least there was some fight in that team. Marty just pointed it out... Lucic hit on Miller, start of the playoff drought. Team has had zero fight since. And again, I don’t mean goon hockey. I’m saying sticking up
For your boy. Hell, Cernak hit jack in Sweden, stood over him and that got more response then the dahlin hit.

The team is swaft. No passion and little heart... start moving some faces out.

sabres have been terrible for so long that nobody remembers what a good hockey team looks like and are grasping at toughness or whatever as to why we score 2 goals per game on a good day

I can both agree with this and also strongly believe none of that matters towards why they lose games
